1st AXA ACHIEVEMENT COMMUNITY SCHOLARSHIP -Deadline is February 1st, but only the first 10,000 applications will be taken.
This program offers numerous $2000 college scholarships to high school seniors who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in their activities in school, the community, or the workplace. Applicants must be US citizens, plan to enroll full-time in a two or four year college in the fall of 2016, be ambitious and motivated and be recommended by an unrelated adult who can attest to the student’s achievement. 1st Jagannathan Scholarship: The Jagannathan Scholarship provides assistance to graduating students based on academic achievement, financial need, extracurricular activities, and evidence of leadership. This Scholarship is valued at $2,000. To apply, students must first set up an account at www.cfnc.org. Students will then complete the Jagannathan Scholarship Application available at www.cfnc.org/jag. The application requires Transcript, SAT scores, and essay, and a letter of reference. Students who qualify must receive nomination from Triton High School. When starting the application, name your Guidance Counselor, and they will receive a notification that you are requesting nomination. Application is due on February 1, 2016.

2nd Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship: Applicants must be NORTH CAROLINA RESIDENTS enrolled in a public high school in their senior year. Criteria for selection include character, community involvement and scholastic achievement. Award values vary. Individuals meeting these qualifications may access the application forms one of three ways:

The applicant must send a completed application package that consists of:
  1. A completed application form;
  2. Resume of accomplishments, extra-curricular activities, scholarships, affiliations, organizations
  3. Philosophies of Dr. King
  4. A one-page essay “Why do you think you deserve this scholarship?”
  5. An official transcript must be embossed, signed and sealed with a cumulative unweighted GPA of at least 2.5
    • Two letters of recommendation: (Signed letters of recommendation must be given to the applicant in a sealed envelope )
    • one (1) letter must be from applicant’s school personnel (recommendation must be on school letterhead). one letter must be from applicant’s community

Deadline for all required materials must be postmarked no later than the first Monday in February. The applicant is responsible for supplying all materials required for consideration for the scholarship as one complete package. Mail the completed application to NCAE Headquarters, to the address found on the application. Electronic materials will not be accepted. An application is attached below.

February 10th The Matthew Graziedei Achievement Award: This scholarship is presented annually by The Exceptional Children's Assistance Center, to a North Carolina High School Senior with a disability. The award is valued at $1,000 and can be used for post-secondary education or equipment/technology needed for employment. February 22nd North Carolina Extension and Community Association Scholarship: The Purpose of this scholarship is to assist students in obtaining a degree at any North Carolina College, in any field of study, with priority given to Family and Consumer Sciences. To apply, complete and return the attached application to your Guidance Counselor by February 22nd, 2016. The actual application says it is due on February 1st, but that deadline has changed. This scholarship has a value of $800 and students have the option of reapplying every year they are in school.



Deadline: February 26 to THS or March 1 if student mails.

This scholarship is available each year to a student residing in selected counties with at least one year of membership in FFA. Applicants must be planning to attend a college or university full-time, have a GPA of 3.0 (unweighted), be a US citizen, and SAT score minimum of 1350 or ACT minimum of 21. Dependents of Cape Fear Farm Credit members or employees will receive extra points in the scholarship competition.

Graduating Seniors of Triton High School who wish to pursue a degree at an institution of higher learning are eligible to apply for this scholarship. Students must demonstrate academic excellence and financial need. Complete the application and financial information sheets linked below and submit to Guidance by February 28 or Mail in by March 1.

February 28th Buick Achievers Scholarships: Every year, the Buick Achievers program offers thousands of scholarships to graduating Seniors. Program specifics and access to the online application are now available at www.buickachievers.com. You must submit your application by 5:00 pm on February 28, 2014.

February 28th Que Llueva Café Scholarship:

Eligibility Requirements:
  • Must be of Latino descent
  • Must be an undocumented student. We define an undocumented student as someone who was born outside of the U.S. but lives here without legal permission of the federal government (DACA students are eligible).
  • Must be or will be a high school/GED graduate who will enroll for the first time in an accredited college or university in the U.S. or Puerto Rico for the 2015-2016 academic year. Due to limited funds, current college students who have already graduated high school or received their GED will not be considered.
  • Must demonstrate financial need.
  • Must demonstrate academic potential and promise.
Application packet includes a letter of recommendation, a personal statement, and a writing prompt. Completed application packets must be postmarked by February 28th, 2015.

The Golden LEAF Scholars Program is designed to assist current high school seniors and North Carolina community college transfer students. Recipients must be from certain rural counties and demonstrate both financial need and merit to attend qualified North Carolina colleges and universities in the fall of 2014. The scholarship is funded by the Golden LEAF Foundation through a grant to the North Carolina State Education Assistance Authority. The number of years of scholarship support depends on the degree sought and the number of credits transferred.
